Decoupage Tile Coasters

Ok, after the success of my drinks trolley I decided to make something with the tiles I picked up the other week so here we go. Im staying on the childrens book theme and this time using Black Beauty. I LOVE this book, I read it when I was so young and its just such a beautiful storey!!

What you will need
book, 6 tiles, large piece of felt, mod podge, pen, super glue, brush

Firstly place a tile on the felt and draw around it.

Continue until you have 6 tiles drawn around then cut out.

Rip out some pages of your book, choose pages that have nice pictures or text that stands out to you.

Rip up the pages in pieces you want on your tile.

I decided to paint the back of the paper this time instead of painting straight onto the surface

Place the paper onto the surface and flatten out all of the air bubbles.

Fold the edges over and glue them down.

Paste some mod podge ontop of the paper.

Continue on with other pieces of paper until your tile is covered.

Cover the whole thing in annother layer of mod podge.

Do this to all 6 tiles and leave to dry on a stiff plastic bag.

Once dry turn over and zig zag some super glue onto the tile.

Take one of the pieces of felt and stick it on.

Leave to dry.

Voilla fab Black Beauty coasters, cost me £1.50 to make 6!!! I am also going to get a bit of gloss or varnish to pop over the top and make them water proof!!

What do you think of these coasters, have you tried something similar yourself?
